My High Vibe Morning Routine

I’ve got to be honest with you, I am not a morning person! I never have been! I have always struggled to wake up in the morning. I am a night owl and often stay up so late that I make it even more difficult for myself in the morning. But living a high performance life means consciously creating a supercharged day and that starts with waking up high vibe. Here are some tips straight out of my routine to start your day off on the right side of the bed.

1. Right when I wake up I decide how I want my day to go

Whether I am waking up to an alarm or the glimmer of the sun through the curtains, before I get out of bed I set an intention for my day. I think about how I want my day to go, how I want to feel, what I want to get done. I run through a list in my head of all of the positive emotions that I want to feel and I let myself feel them. “Today I want to feel excited, energetic, and inspired. I want to be amazed at how easily I flow through the day…”

2. I fill my space with lovely and uplifting smells

I use essential oils religiously and I always turn on my diffuser first thing in the morning to  indulge in my favorite uplifting oils. It helps me wake up and makes my space feel warm and comfortable. My favorite morning oils are Young Living’s Purification, Lemon, or Peppermint. 

3. I surround myself with positive sounds

I love listening to calming and positive sounds first thing in the morning. A couple of my favorites are the Tibetan Singing Bowls station on Pandora, or even Youtube videos Doreen Virtue and Abraham Hicks. Pick what sounds exciting to you and what is in alignment with how you want your day to go.

4. I don’t check my phone until after my coffee

I know, its hard... but I want to be anchored in my positive intentions for the day before I let the outside influences of the world in, so I don’t check my phone until after I am fully awake… post-coffee, of course! I sleep with my phone on airplane mode, and when I turn airplane mode off in the morning I see the messages roll in, but I don’t check or reply until I am fully awake and feeling good in my own positive energies.

5. I make a list and create a daily agenda

On monday I make a list of my whole week (my appointment, to do's, etc). Everyday I review this list to see what's on the docket and plan my day accordingly. I often review my to do list before bed so that while I sleep I can absorb and prepare for the following day. Then during coffee, I sit and create an actual game of what needs to get done, including scheduling in fun things such as reading a book or going for a walk. It is easier to move through your day with ease when you have a heads up of what you would like to accomplish that day. Plus, it feels super good to cross things off your list as you get them done!

 

Trust me, I did not just wake up one morning and adopt this routine! Changing your routine starts with simple step and it takes time. If you're looking to supercharge your morning routine, start by shifting something in your routine that brings you joy. For example, if you can’t stand the sound of your alarm clock when it goes off in the morning, go buy one with a more enjoyable sound. If you get bored of breakfast every morning, how can you make the most important meal of the day more exciting for yourself? If you wake up feeling sore, do you need a new pillow or mattress topper?

Just remember, you do have control over how you feel and you get to choose how you start your morning.  When you start your day with positive intentions and surrounding yourself with things that make you feel good you set your high vibes in motion for the whole day.
